Stall sign backgrounds and colors
Every design on the site starts from one of these backgrounds, and any of them can be changed to your own colors.
Solid colors
A single solid color is the simplest background and usually the easiest to read, as long as the lettering is much lighter or much darker than it.
Your farm colors
You can recolor any design by picking the background color, the name color and the color of the small print. Use your show colors, school colors or the color of your barn doors. If the lettering gets hard to read against the background, the design page tells you.
Gradients
A gradient goes from one color to another across the sign, or gets lighter toward the middle. The background changes color gradually, so there’s still nothing busy behind the name.
Barnwood, leather, steel and chalkboard
These backgrounds are photographs of weathered barnwood, saddle leather, brushed steel and an old chalkboard, printed onto the aluminum. The sign itself is flat and smooth.
You can tint any of them with a color, to darken the texture behind light lettering or to match your barn.
Color-block panels
A panel is a block of a second color along one side of the sign. Its edge can be angled, straight or arched, and you can put it on any side and choose how far in it reaches.
Good to know
- Pick colors with strong contrast, like dark letters on a light background or light letters on a dark one.
- The design is dye-sublimated into the coating on the aluminum, so the colors are part of the surface.
