The look
We photographed old barn siding, knots and saw marks included, and darkened it to a walnut stain so light letters show up well. It’s printed onto flat aluminum, so there’s no wood to split, rot or splinter.
Names are set in Alfa Slab One, which is about as thick as a slab serif gets. A thin cream line runs around the edge, and the ornament layouts use cream horseshoes.
Who it's for
It belongs in an older barn with real wood stalls, or a run-in shed where a freshly painted sign would look out of place. Dust doesn’t show much on the dark grain.
Whitewashed Barnwood is the pale version.
